Architectural structures from other cultures inspire me. The colors I choose to physically mix and print with generate a new world apart from the realities of my original photographs. The paint raises the surface off the two-dimensional paper and creates a uniquely textured aesthetic for each print.
I focus less on the subject of the imagery and more on presenting this aesthetic. The photographs I select to screen print are based on formal elements and a particular layering of shapes. This layering echoes the process of screen printing.
